Hershey's Chocolate-Berry Parfaits

 

Ingredients

Parfaits:

  • Chocolate cream pudding (recipe follows) 1 package (10 oz.) frozen sliced strawberries, thawed, or 1 cup sweetened, sliced fresh strawberries 1 cup (1/2 pt.) cold whipping cream 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • Fresh strawberries (optional)
Chocolate cream pudding:
  • 1 cup sugar 1/4 cup HERSHEY'S Cocoa 1/3 cup cornstarch 1/4 tsp. salt 3 cups milk 3 egg yolks, slightly beaten 2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
  • 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract

Chocolate-Berry Parfaits

Preparation Parfaits: Prepare chocolate cream pudding; cool completely. Drain strawberries; in blender, puree to equal 1/2 cup. In a small mixer bowl, beat whipping cream and powdered sugar until stiff; fold in strawberry puree. In parfait or wine glasses, alternately layer chocolate pudding and strawberry cream, ending with chocolate pudding. Cover; refrigerate until set. Makes 8 to l0 servings. Chocolate cream pudding: In a heavy saucepan, stir together sugar, cocoa, cornstarch and salt; stir in milk and egg yolks. Cook over medium-high heat, stirring constantly, until mixture boils; boil and stir one minute. Remove from heat; blend in butter and vanilla. Cool. Provided by Hershey Foods Corporation
