Nature's Roasted Garlic and Cheese Appetizer Bread

Makes 1 loaf

Ingredients
  • Nature's Seasons® Roasted Garlic (recipe follows) ¼ pound sliced prosciutto OR smoked ham, chopped 2 Tbsp. snipped fresh parsley ½ tsp. Nature's Seasons® seasoning blend 1 pound thin Italian loaf OR French bread, split horizontally
  • 2 cups grated Gruyere cheese

Preparation Squeeze roasted garlic from skin into a food processor. Add prosciutto; purée with on/off motion until smooth. Stir in parsley and Nature's Seasons seasoning blend. Spread mixture evenly over bread halves. Top with grated cheese. Bake at 350°F for 10 minutes or broil until cheese melts to a light golden brown. Slice into serving pieces.

Nature's Seasons Roasted Garlic

  • 2 whole heads garlic ¼ cup olive oil
  • 2 Tbsp. Nature's Seasons® seasoning blend

Make cut along garlic tip to expose top of cloves. Place heads on foil. Drizzle with oil; sprinkle with Nature's Seasons seasoning blend. Wrap completely in foil. Grill over hot coals (OR bake in 350°F oven for 1 hour) until cloves soften and turn light brown. Set aside for appetizer bread. Variations Garlic and Cheese Croutons: Slice bread into 1½-inch thick pieces. Bake bread at 375°F for 12 minutes or until bread is toasted. Spread garlic mixture evenly on one side of toasted crouton and top with grated cheese. Broil until cheese melts and bubbles to a light golden brown. Croutons may be used to cover top of onion soup or corn chowder, chili, or stews. Provided by Morton® Salt
