CACFP Week is a national education and information campaign sponsored annually the third week of March by the National CACFP Sponsors Association. The campaign is designed to raise awareness of how the USDA’s Child and Adult Care Food Program works to combat hunger. The CACFP brings healthy foods to tables across the country for children in child care centers, homes, and afterschool programs as well as adults in day care.
Baking educators can help spread the word about the CACFP by visiting their Campaign page to download resources for spreading awareness in their classrooms, communities, and at the state level. Organizers also invite participants to be active on social media – participate in their Social Media Challenge for a chance to win $100! Tune in for the official CACFP webinar each weekday of CACFP Week centered around the topics of Community, Awareness, Children, Food Program and Participation.
Children receive healthy and nutritious meals through the CACFP. Educate children and parents about the CACFP with these fun activities and communication tools.
The Home Baking Association is proud to partner with CACFP in spreading awareness of this important campaign! Together we can raise awareness of how the CACFP works to combat hunger. Learn what you can do to promote the CACFP and advocate with a press release, a letter to congress, and a request for proclamation. Find more information here
